EDUCATION & SUPPORT

Housing alone does not translate into success. Many people with Autism and/or Developmental Disabilities need help in order to live independently. While Lotus Village does not intend to function as a service provider, it IS our intention to partner with the many organizations that are already providing incredible services.

• Partnerships with organizations to educate the broader community about autism and development disabilities in order to address biases and misconceptions
• Participation in academic studies regarding the best ways to support those with autism/DD to achieve the best possible outcomes
• On-site residential support in the form of Resident Assistants (RAs) who live full time in Lotus Village and have personal and/or professional backgrounds that prepare them to provide knowledgeable and sympathetic support
• Partnerships with service providers to offer classes, group activities, and therapeutic services to residents
• Required financial education for residents and their families/loved ones
• Required transition training for residents prior to move-in
